Golf Club Eppan “The blue Monster”, South Tyrol

The Golf Club Eppan, Golf and Country, with its golf course “The Blue Monster” is located in the mild South Tyrolean Adige Valley between the towns of Eppan, Andriano and Terlano on the South Tyrolean Wine Route. The golf course, which was redesigned in 2015, includes a 9-hole course and the golf hotel The Lodge Hotel in southern South Tyrol. Nine demanding golf courses on more than 10,000 square meters, perfect greens and many small lakes, surrounded by a fantastic mountain backdrop, inspire every golf lover.

The extremely flat topography and the relatively high groundwater level were decisive in the planning work and the main reason to create a place with plenty of water. The artificially created lakes also serve as a water reservoir for the “The Blue Monster” golf course. A positive side effect of the many water areas is that they make a significant contribution to the landscape and ecological upgrading. In addition, additional so-called extensive areas complement the golf course and result in a unique natural landscape.

A course with challenges for professionals who are willing to take risks and at the same time a course with a sure sense of achievement for beginners, that makes the golf course “The Blue Monster” in Eppan attractive for everyone. Relatively wide fairways create pleasant “alternative routes” (bailouts) so as not to overwhelm weaker golfers. With more risk, the success increases, but the penalties can also be higher. This “risk-reward philosophy” is a core principle of the Golf Club Eppan on the South Tyrolean Wine Road, in addition to the strategic installation of other obstacles such as bunkers and solitary trees. The choice of five different tee positions makes the golf course extremely flexible and is therefore also suitable for every level of play.
